Fire Door Inspection & Maintenance
With the growing demand for Fire Door Inspections and maintenance, combined with our experience working with fire doors in a variety of sectors, we felt the natural progression for NHE was to set up a specialist fire door division.
Fire Doors are a critical aspect of fire safety in any building, with it being part of the structure’s compartmentation to contain fires within areas of the building and slow the spread of fire and smoke so that escape routes remain safe for as long as possible.
NHE offers comprehensive Inspection and Maintenance Services that not only address your Fire Door Requirements but also ensure convenience and compliance in the long term.

Services
Inspections
Our fire door inspection service involves a detailed assessment of every fire door in your building. Our Certified Fire Door Inspector will conduct a thorough visual inspection checking all components of the door, including the condition of the door leaf and frame, operating gaps, intumescent and smoke seals, the closer and associated hardware.
A comprehensive post-survey report on the condition of each assembly, detailing any issues found including images so you can visualise the potential hazards will be provided, along with costed recommendations for any significant maintenance and repairs required to ensure your fire doors meet current guidelines and safety regulations, as well as a list of non-critical but advisable improvements.
An Intrusive Architrave survey can also be arranged to determine if the void between the frame and structural opening has been correctly fire stopped

Maintenance
The Regulatory Reform (fire safety) Order 2005 states a suitable system of maintenance should be in place for Fire Doors to ensure they remain fully functional and fit for purpose, this essentially means regular fire door checks are required to provide fire safety and peace of mind within your building.
NHE understands the critical importance that regular fire door maintenance offers for building safety and compliance, and that no buildings are the same, therefore our maintenance packages can be tailor-made to suit each client’s specific requirements, from routine inspections and adjustments to repairs and replacements.
Our dedicated and skilled team of carpenters will survey the condition each and every fire door in your building and carry out any minor maintenance adjustments during their visit, ensuring the works meet the necessary standards and regulations, guaranteeing the highest level of safety and compliance for your building.
By investing in a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) package our team will work with you to ensure that regular surveys and maintenance activities are strategically scheduled as per your chosen contract duration, they will complete the BM-Trada Record of Maintenance Activities (RMA) form and issue this to you identifying what maintenance activities have been completed during the survey stage, and if further Accepted Repair Techniques are required to make each door assembly compliant (if required).
NHE are certified under the BM-Trada to carry out the Maintenance and Installation of Fire Doors, and our detailed records for Fire Door Maintenance serves as a vital tool for compliance and documentation, with these you can demonstrate compliance with regulations and provide evidence of due diligence in fire safety management. These records also offer valuable insight for future maintenance and audits.
Fire doors should be inspected and maintained as specified and in accordance with the requirements of the Responsible Person. Inspection frequency should be determined by the building’s use, occupancy, and level of traffic to help ensure ongoing compliance.
