SUMMARY:

NHE Carpentry was appointed to deliver a substantial carpentry and joinery package for Hopescourt School in Walton-on-Thames, working for main contractor Willmott Dixon on behalf of Surrey County Council. The project formed part of the creation of a new specialist teaching facility designed to support SEN students in a purpose-built learning environment.

Our works included the installation of Velfac windows, internal doorsets, internal ironmongery, a reception screen, skirting and window boards, along with wall corner guards. Each element was delivered with a focus on quality, durability and suitability for a busy educational setting.

A standout aspect of the project was the installation of the larger Velfac windows, which required the use of a spider crane. This was carefully managed using a CPCS-qualified crane operator, appointed person and lift supervisor to ensure the installation was carried out safely and efficiently.

The completed school now provides a modern teaching facility for SEN students, helping create an environment that supports learning, development and day-to-day wellbeing.
